Reading plan part 2 for Day 1 (Thursday):
Psalm 107:8 and Psalm 118:21

Psalm 107:7-9
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. v.7 He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. v.8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, v.9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
I like to look at least the first verse before and after the main verse I'm studying so that I get a better look at the situation leading to the main verse. We see that in verse 6 that the situation called for His people to cry out in their time of need. They needed Him to deliver them from trouble and distress. Then in verse 7 God led them to the place they needed to be, this is the verse in which He answered they prayer. So as we can see, verses 6-7 set the stage for verse 8.
Verse 8-9 the people give thanks to God for answering their prayer. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, v.9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
God will often bring us to a place where our own self-sufficiency fails and no human being can help, so that we might cry out to Him in humble and childlike faith.
Psalm 118:21
v.21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.
Give praise for God saving us and becoming our savior. God answers our prayers in many ways. Sometimes He brings us through storms or even keeps us from a particular storm/situation, by giving us what we need. Sometimes He answers by not answering our prayer as well. Sometimes the ones He does not answer because it may not be what we need, but what we want, our wants can sometimes cause us more harm than we realize.
However, no matter how He answers us, we should always give Him thanks. Because we may not always see it, but He does everything for our good.
I will leave you with one question.
1) What is this simple yet powerful verse saying about giving thanks?
Thanks for joining! I can't wait to see what these passages say to you.
God Bless!
